WHERE TO GO
Fishing The Blocks
This areas sea bed is flat but it is home to lobsters which can’t be caught by rod and line.
Flat fish seem to avoid this area but lay off it some 30 feet East or West waiting in the current and dips for passing food.
Caution if diving this area there is a gap marked with two poles. This is for small boats to pass the blocks at all states of the tide. It can be a lethal area as some boats have deep keels. Running a dive buoy only attracts the boats to see what it is and you may find yourself being pulled to the surface into someone's running propeller.
The local small boat owner seems to have no knowledge of dive buoys.
Plaice are large in this area off shore and evenings and night come within feet of the shore. Laying a ground bait at low tide helps.
Do not kill the crabs as you kill the food chain
Also devil fish (This has been killed by every moron with a fishing rod) are in short supply these lay eggs on the pier and blocks an attractor for the bass. They are not dangerous and do not sting. One fisherman told me he was stung in the foot by one when he trod on it. Yes they have spines but no sting unlike their tropical counterparts..
Also please take all your rubbish home or use the bins provided.
